The new TrentonTQ9board is a PICMG 1.3 SHB thatoffers a wide variety of multi-core processor options on a boardwith the extensive I/O support needed in today’s complex systemapplications.
Along with the significant performance improvementsdelivered by the multi-core processors over the TQ9’s 1333MHz frontside bus, the TrentonTQ9also features a dual-channel DDR2-800 system memoryinterface. The fourDIMM sockets on the SHB support up to 8GB of high-bandwidth memoryusing PC2-6400 DIMMs.
Flexible PCI ExpressTM(PCIe) x16, x4 andx1 electrical links are key elements on the TQ9 SHB. The SHB’s x16 PCI link cansupport either generic PCIe cards or advanced PCI Express video andimaging cards. The board’s x4 PCIe link can operate as either a single x4link or as four x1 PCIe links on a PICMG 1.3 backplane. This PCIe link flexibilityis ideally suited to supporting a wide range of PCI Express cards,devices and bridges to PCI-X and PCI option cards on aPICMG 1.3backplane.
Advanced I/O capabilities of theTQ9include on-board audio, a large number of USB 2.0 and SATAII 300 interfaces. Off-board PICMG 1.3 backplane I/O includes support for eSATAII 300, USB 2.0 and Fast Ethernet interfaces.
